Julius almost went broke selling on Amazon...

...until he did this

Hey "Amazon Creature”,

Let me tell you about my good friend, Julius, who almost called it quits selling silicon ice trays on Amazon.

I was still in the U.S., and it was late one night when my phone lit up. It was Julius, and I knew it was serious (he never texts so late… no one does):

In summary: Julius had done everything Amazon Bros in X (ex-Twitter) said he should do. He slapped together broad-match keywords, set a decent budget, and hit ‘Go’ on his campaigns… 🤦‍♂️

So, I offered to review his account, free of charge (he’s my buddy from kindergarten, after all). Although, I’ll admit, I was a little offended that he only called me after things went south… but hey, who’s judging?

What I Found: His ACoS was skyrocketing, and the CTR? Let’s just say it was like 😵💀

People were seeing his ads, but no one was clicking.
Worse yet, the clicks that did come in weren’t converting.

So what was the problem?

His keyword strategy was killing him.

He was using high-volume keywords that drove traffic but didn’t convert.

He was getting people interested in ice trays, but not his ice trays.
He was bidding on his own competition. (Poor little fucker) 😖😖😖😖

The Rescue Plan—Every Little Secret

So, we made a rescue plan. Since you’re still reading, I’ll share EVERY LITTLE SECRET:

  1. Switch to Exact-Match Keywords:
    We ditched the broad-match keywords and focused on exact-match keywords like “silicone whiskey ice trays” and “flexible ice cube molds.” These had buying intent.

  2. Bid Optimization:
    Adjusted his bids strategically: lower bids on high-competition terms and higher bids on niche, low-competition keywords that converted better.

  3. Daily Tweaks:
    No more “set it and forget it.” We tracked his ACoS and CTR daily, making tiny adjustments like tuning a guitar.

The Result Of My Humble Intervention: Julius’ Sales Took Off

Within 60 days, Julius’ sales jumped by $30,000 in profitable monthly sales. His ACoS dropped from a painful 40% to a solid 15%, meaning he was making $7 for every $1 spent on ads. And his monthly profit? Up by over $7,000.

In total, Julius hit over $163,000 in sales after just a couple of months.
