Stuck between $50K and $80K on Amazon?
It’s normal to despair. Read on 👉
Hello, Amazon Creature (I’m gonna start calling you, me, and people like us that way)!
Today, I want to address something that I’m sure it’s on your mind every single minute of every single day: Getting stuck!
And trust me I know! I’ve been there, I’ve done that, and I’ve felt that way.
It might not be “The Fun Part,” but you and I need to talk about the pains you face when getting stuck at those $50K to $80K a month on Bezos’ terrain.
Yep, it’s time to get real about the bumps on this Amazon road to riches.
There are gazillion pains merchants like you experience at different stages, but there are three main ones that I’ve identified with all my clients and students, and that I also went through.
I call these: “The Big 3":
Inventory Nightmares: Managing stock at this level is like walking a tightrope. You’re constantly balancing between too much and too little. Too much, and your cash flow’s as tight as your old gym shorts. Too little, and you’re out of stock faster than toilet paper in a pandemic.
Scaling SNAFUs: Do you know what SNAFUs stand for? Situation Normal: All Fucked Up. Growing pains are real. You’ve got some traction, but taking it to the next level feels like trying to benchpress a truck. The strategies that got you here need an upgrade, and figuring out what to do next can be a head-scratcher. But that’s part of life: “What got you here, won’t take you there.”
PPC Puzzles: Your ads are running, but are they killing it or just bleeding your budget? The PPC game gets tougher as you scale. You need to outsmart the competition without burning through your profits.
The Lessons “The Big 3" Teach You:
Inventory Mastery: This struggle is pushing you to get smarter about forecasting and inventory management. Using Amazon’s tools and maybe even investing in some third-party software can save you from the constant stress of stockouts and overstock.
Strategic Scaling: You’re learning that scaling isn’t just about pumping more money into ads. It’s about refining your processes, maybe hiring some help, and focusing on the right products. Efficiency is your new best friend.
PPC Precision: These challenges are teaching you to analyze and adjust. You’re becoming a master of tweaking bids, honing keywords, and creating ads that convert like crazy. You’ll also become a master in behavioral economics and buyer psychology.
How to Keep Pushing and Hustling:
Don’t let these pains knock you out. Pains are the best personal trainers you’ve ever had—pushing you to get stronger, smarter, and savvier.
Keep your eyes on the prize and remember that every challenge is an opportunity to grow.
IT IS COMPLETELY NORMAL TO FEEL IMPOSTOR SYNDROME AT THIS POINT.
Next Steps to Scale:
Refine Your Systems: Invest in tools that help with inventory management and automation. This frees you up to focus on big-picture strategies.
Expand Your Team: Consider hiring virtual assistants for customer service and other repetitive tasks. This lets you concentrate on scaling and strategy.
Optimize Your PPC: Take a deep dive into your ad campaigns. Split test like a mad scientist and adjust based on data, not gut feelings. (I might know someone who can help you with this 🙄)
Product Diversification: Start looking into expanding your product line. New products can bring in new revenue streams and reduce risk.
Every big success story on Amazon was once at your stage.
Everyone faced the same issues, felt the same frustrations, and pushed through to the other side.
Remember the famous scene from The Shawshank Redemption where, as narrated in Morgan Freeman’s voice, “Andy crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of shit-smelling foulness I can’t even imagine, or maybe I just don’t want to.”
Your next milestone isn’t a dream—it’s a few smart moves away (maybe crawling through just a little more of that shit-smelling foulness).
Until next time, keep hustling, keep learning, and keep growing.
And as quoted in the film, “Get busy living, or get busy dying.”
